Vacation 2010, Day 03, May 17

Today started with breakfast in the RV, chorizo and egg burritos. While we ate breakfast Marilyn looked out the window and asked "do those look like rain clouds?" I said, no just May gray. WRONG, it rained almost all day. After breakfast we had an adventure in Visalia trying to get from the RV park to Hwy-198. Eventually we found the highway and drove to the south entrance to Sequoia National Park. We had planed to drive from the south entrance to the north entrance. WRONG, big sign that says the road is not recommended for vehicles longer than 22 feet, the RV is 29 feet. We went to the visitor center and talked with a ranger who said it would be best to drive back to Visalia on Hwy-198, take Hwy-63 north to Hwy-180 east into the park, so we did. When we got to the park we were in the clouds and there was light rain, and still snow on the ground from winter. We did go see the General Grant Tree/Grove before heading back down. We drove back west on Hwy-180 to Fresno where we found a camping spot (the last one) at Fresno Mobile Home and RV Park. We had grilled chicken for supper.
