Vacation 2003, Day 8

Cereal for breakfast. Called Pikes Peak Cog Railroad and got reservations for the 9:30AM train to the top of Pikes Peak. Made the trip up the mountain and bought some souvenirs at the top. The guide said they were having a heat wave (40 deg. at the top) and that the air was the clearest it has been all year. Road back down the mountain and had some lunch in the RV. From there we went to Seven Falls. From Seven Falls we got on hwy 25 north towards Denver. Stopped for the night at the Castle Rock Campground near Castle Rock. No stream this time, just a railroad track, with lots of trains! Went into the town of Castle Rock and had dinner at Duke's Steak House. Marilyn had a piece of Walleye that hung off both sides of the plate and I had Steak and Shrimp. We gave it 3 1/2 stars out of four.
