Vacation 2008

Day 12, May 19

Fixed bacon and waffles in the RV then left Seattle headed south. We were going to re-visit Mt. St. Helens east viewing location called Windy Ridge but when we got around to the road going up the mountain we found that it was still closed because of snow. We stopped at a ranger station and they said the west viewing location called Johnston Ridge Observatory had just opened. We drove around the mountain then up to Johnston Ridge, there was still quite a lot of snow. We watched a movie and a presentation by a ranger. On the way back down the mountain we came across a tulip farm. It was getting late so we stopped for the night at The Mt. St. Helens RV Resort. Our campsite has a great view of Silver Lake. I grilled hamburgers for supper. No WiFi or Cell service, so for tonight we are cut off from the world.
