Vacation 2009, Day 06, June 16

Cooked bacon and eggs for breakfast in the RV. Got on Hwy 54 east to Yeats Center then Hwy 75 north until we got to I-35 north again. We saw a bunch of downed power poles along Hwy 75. Continued on I-35 north through Kansas City (a slight adventure in Kansas City due to a detour because of construction on I-35). Continued on I-35 into Iowa, hit heavy rain in Des Moines, got off the interstate at Mason City IA to Visit Pete Marzen. Marilyn knew Pete when she worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester MN. A friend of Pete's, Carl, Brought Supper over. We Stayed the night in Pete's Driveway.
