Vacation 2009, Day 18, June 28

Had breakfast at Perkins Restaurant in Watertown SD. From Watertown we drove south on I-29 into Iowa, then got on I-680 west to avoid Counsel Bluffs IW and most of Omaha NB and got on I-80 west. At Kearney NE we got off the interstate and got gas for the RV. We went to The Great Platte River Road Archway which is an arch across I-80. The arch is located halfway between San Francisco and  New York on what was the Lincoln Highway, the first highway that went from coast to coast. Inside the arch are displays of pioneers going west, the pony express, the first transcontinental telegraph and much much more. After the arch it was supper at Perkins Restaurant in Kearney and back on I-80 west to Gothenburg NE where we are staying at the KOA.
