Main House - Us in the Winter Garden - Marilyn says hi to Chester

Marilyn's sister Judith had sent her an e-mail saying that when she was in Ashville NC she had gone to see the Biltmore but couldn't see the grounds because it was raining. We didn't know what the Biltmore was, but we were going through Ashville so we decided to check it out. When we got to Ashville we saw signs directing us to the Biltmore Estate. We found out that the estate was built by George W Vanderbilt in 1895. The house has 250 rooms and sits on an 8000 acre estate. We took an audio tour of the house, then toured the gardens winery and Farm. We had supper at Cedric's Tavern at Antler Hill Village before leaving the estate at about 6:30pm. Altogether we spent 6 and a half hours touring the estate. Thank you Judith for the tip, we had a great day! Found a place to stay at Ashville Bear Creek RV Park and Campground.
