Well the plan worked! The sun came up and not a cloud in the sky. We walked into Grand Marais and ate breakfast at The Pie Place Cafe. Then we walked around town and did some shopping. In one of the shops a clerk told us about High Falls at Grand Portage on the Canadian border. We went back to the RV and took off for Grand Portage on North Shore Drive (Hwy 61). After parking at the Grand Portage Visitor Center we walked about a mile to High Falls. High Falls are the highest falls in Minnesota, about 130 feet. After seeing high falls we drove back south on North Shore Drive to Split Rock Lighthouse. We took a guided tour and heard the history of the lighthouse. We then walked through the lighthouse and head keepers house. Then it was back on North Shore Drive south to Gooseberry Falls for another hike. After Gooseberry Falls it back on North Shore Drive south again to Two Harbors where we ate supper at Blackwoods Restaurant. After supper we drove back through Duluth ending up at Ogstons RV Park in Saginaw MN where we will spend the night.
