Breakfast at Denny's. Got on HWY-17 North and drove to Charleston SC. Went to Patriots Point to catch the ferry boat to Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter is were The Confederacy fired on the Union Army to start the Civil War. We got there at 11:00 and the ferry had just left. the next ferry was at 1:30. To kill time we bought tickets to Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and toured the aircraft carrier Yorktown which is celebrating it's 70th anniversary (just like me). Next we boarded the ferry for the 25 minuet ride to the fort, spent about an hour at the fort and then retuned to Patriots Point. Next it was back on HWY-17 North to Mount Pleasant SC. Had supper at T.G.I.Fridays, did some shopping at Wal-Mart and set up camp at Mt. Pleasant/Charleston KOA.
