Vacation 2001 Day: 12

Date: 05/30/2001

Left Meteor Crater and headed east on I40. Went back through Winslow and turned south on 180 at Holbrook. Drove on 180 to the entrance to the Petrified Forest National Monument. Toured the visitor center then continued north through the park stopping at various viewing spots. The north end of the park is in the Painted Desert. Had lunch at the Painted Desert Visitor center. Got back on I40 west back to Holbrook. Stopped outside town at a truck wash and got the RV washed. Got a spot to stay the night at the Holbrook KOA campground. Went shopping in town, came back to the campground and did laundry. We don't see many campgrounds north east of here where we are headed for so you may not hear from us for awhile.
